michelle williams: spring & summer looks

For those who don't already know, I love love love Michelle Williams. She has been a style icon for me for a few years now. Also, her short hair is always so cute and she manages to keep it fresh with different looks. One day she looks like Jean Seberg, another day she looks like a modern-day Louise Brooks...yet, she still manages to make it her own.

Today, I decided to post a few of her paparazzi outfits (I know, I'm a creeper, too!) of different spring and summer looks that are inspiring yet you and I can easily emulate. I love the clean lines, the simple silhouettes, and how easy everything just looks on her. Also, as you can see below, she recycles different articles of clothing, re-working them into completely different outfits. She's one of us!
With the also beautiful Spike Jonze (have you seen the trailer for "Where the Wild Things Are" yet? It's so magnificent and every time I watch it, I get more and more excited!). Button-up plaid shirt with a pair of really nice ankle booties. Also, that trench jacket is lightweight enough for a cold spring day. Probably makes Cecily jealoussss.

The jacket appears again, but this time with some heeled boots. The main reason I wanted to post this, though, was Matilda's FLORAL DOC MARTENS. SOOOO ADORABLE.

It's like the evolution of boot length, as seen in paparazzi shots. Anyway, I think these three pairs of boots show the perfect lengths that they should be. None of that over-the-knee boot crap or boots that make your legs look stubby. Just let Ms. Williams guide you, dearies. Also, that jacket. It's the perfect stylish rain coat without looking like Paddington Bear.
Black skinnies cuffed at the ankle, simple ballet flats, and a cute, but no-fuss, sweater. Done. Perfect.
FIRST OF ALL, AAAAAAAAAW. Second, another example of a really simple outfit consisting of a sweater with some visual interest and some nicely fitted jeans. It's all you need for a brisk spring day without being too fussy!
This is how to do cut offs right, everybody. Pair it with a really cute blouse (floral or otherwise... Or floral.) and some flats, and you'll look simply spring/summer in no time.
And lastly:I'm still trying to find the perfect denim jacket but this is how to do a nice cover-up for a floral dress in the spring and summertime. I own so many cardigans, but sometimes you just get bored of wearing them all the time. Also, I don't own any summer-friendly outerwear as I really fear the sun. Note to self: buy more light-weight jackets.
I hope that ogling paparazzi pictures (all courtesy of the Internets, and Just Jared) has been both educational and inspirational.
Now hop to it! Make this summer extra great!
