Since I graduated, I've been organizing my closet at home to make space for all the clothes I had in my apartment at school. Doing this meant taking out clothes I didn't wear anymore. Looking at all the old clothes and other stuff I was planning on giving away made me angry about my high school self. Dear High School Self, why did you buy so much stuff you never wore? Ugh such a waste! I vow never to buy anything that I don't totally love and can wear in at least 3 different ways.
In order to do this, and start changing my ways to live a more minimalistic lifestyle, I am going to use The Uniform Project as my muse.
Sheena Matheiken launched "The Uniform Project" to raise funds for the Akanksha Foundation, a "grassroots non-profit founded in Mumbai in 1990 through the volunteered efforts of college students devoted to bringing education to slum children."
According to Matheiken's project statement:
Starting May 2009, I have pledged to wear one dress for one year as an exercise in sustainable fashion. Here’s how it works: There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day I will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade's boudoir.

Um, hero much? Most of her outfits are hits and there are rare occasions where she misses but I gotta hand it to her, she takes layering and accessorizing to a new level.
